Basebutter is a skincare line that creates real products for real skin made by real women. When the company decided to take a more holistic and knowledgable stance on esthetics, CEO She’Neil Johnson hit us up to rebrand from the ground up. For a few months we worked side-by-side with their team to develop a new brand strategy, product design, identity, packaging, art direction, e-commerce design, and print to align with their newfound mission. Not only did their new look gain a mass following (2000+ new followers on IG since September launch) Basebutter has been featured in both Elle and Essence magazine since the relaunch! Check out deets on the project below!
product + packaging redesign
Designing a new logo wasn’t originally on the top of the priority list, but we ended up with a bold and curvy “B” monogram to grace the brand’s new identity with minimal and sleek packaging. Radiate Face Jelly got a new update, with luxurious glass bottles with pumps to make the squeezing that much easier!
designing the online campaign + website
Once we wrapped up the packaging portion of the rebrand, we sat through strategy sessions and planned an inclusive campaign with real women and real skin, something not typically done by most skincare brands. Basebutter’s new campaign has less editing, capturing everyday women embracing the skin they were born with. The images were utilized across social media and the newly launched website. The re-brand wasn’t complete without the website, which featured a cleaner layout with a strategic user journey.
